One of the things my blogging style doesn’t allow me to do as much as I’d like is to link out to all the interesting things that pop up in my feed reader. So, since I’m feeling rather lackadaisical after the long weekend here in the States (and I have another Mavs victory to prepare for tonight), I thought I’d give these smart people the stage.
- Dan Russell at Creating Passionate Users produces a nice piece about the importance of giving people direction and eliciting a commitment if you want action. But you knew about that, right?
- Sticking with psychology, John Scott offers an excellent post about the dangers of competing on price, because lower priced products are inherently viewed as inferior. Remember the turquoise jewelry and the shop owner who had given up?
- Want links? How about ego link baiting?
- I’m finally starting to see the exciting marketing applications of OPML. Thanks Steve.
- A cool new template from Chris Pearson, who understands the power of free resources.
- And if you too understand the importance of giving free resources to other bloggers, check out Performancing Launchpad. I wish this had been around a couple of months ago.
- Why Chartreuse emails me one insult (at least) per day.
- This is why I don’t take on clients.
- Godin’s on a roll… In Search of Better, Stories and My Back, and I’ll Know it When I See It.
- 6+1 Traits of Effective Blogging (nice headline Liz!).
- Glen Ross can help you with the tricky (but crucial) art of customer service.
- Ming says I need to loosen up, and he’s right. But I don’t think you’re quite prepared for that… 🙂
- Feng Shui tips for your bedroom. Jessica, how about the home office? Have you seen this mess I’m drowning in?
- The First Annual “Most Shameless Link Baiter on the Planet” Award goes too… (you know I love ya, Scott. Just keep Orchardo locked up, please?).
- I’ve failed countless times, and I’ve always learned more from the misses than I have from the successes. Robert Bruce says it perfectly in verse.
- Finally, Howard Lindzon is a great guy with a great blog. But, due to an unfortunate juxtaposition of geography and misguided allegiance, he finds himself a Phoenix Suns fan. The usual wager has resulted (see the comments), and I can’t wait to see Howard sporting Nowitzki’s 41.
